The F9F Panther was one of the first carrier born, jet fighters flown by the US Navy. The Panther served extensively during the Korean War with both the Navy and the US Marines. Although it was outclassed by the more advanced, swept-wing MiG 15, the Panther held its own until the F-86 Sabre entered the war with the US Air Force. F9F Panthers shot down a total of seven MiG 15 fighters during the war. This print depicts the first Navy jet vs jet kill on November 9, 1950.
