When the German army invaded Russia in World War II, the Russian T-34 tank they encountered came as a big shock. The Panther tank was designed as a response to the T-34. After some initial teething problems the Panther became a formidable fighting machine which is widely regarded as the best all-around tank of the war. The Panther features good maneuverability as well as excellent armor and a devastating 75MM gun. This print depicts an Ausf G version of the Panther on the Western front.
