Known affectionately as the "Thud", the F-105 Thunderchief was designed to deliver a nuclear payload by flying low and fast. At low altitude nothing could outrun the "Thud". The F-105 Thunderchief was used extensively during the war in Vietnam as a fighter/bomber. In terms of bombs delivered on target she was second only to the venerable B-52. Later versions of the F-105 Thunderchief had two seats and were utilized on Wild Weasel missions to detect and destroy enemy surface-to-air missile sites. Our print depicts two F-105D models flying low and fast with a centerline bomb load destined for Hanoi.
