On May 30, 2020 the Crew Dragon Demo-2 mission was launched carrying NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken to the International Space Station. The rocket and spacecraft were all developed and manufactured by SpaceX. Launching from American soil with American spacecraft it was the first mission to fly as such in 9 years since the Space Shuttle was retired. The SpaceX flight hardware is completely re-usable and equipped with state of the art technology. It marks a new era in American space exploration.
