On July 20, 1969 the spacecraft of Apollo 11 orbited the moon. They were the Command/Service Module "Columbia" and the Lunar Module "Eagle". When the two spacecraft separated Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in "Eagle" were preparing to make the descent from lunar orbit to the surface while Michael Collins remained alone in orbit in "Columbia". "You cats take it easy on the lunar surface", Collins said as he released the LM. Collins did a visual inspection of the lunar module and said, "I think you've got a fine looking machine there, Eagle, despite the fact that you're upside-down." "Somebody's upside-down", Armstrong replied.
