Designed to a BOAC specification, the Vickers VC10 was one of the most beautiful airliners to fly the skies. The airplane featured quad Rolls Royce Conway jet engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage, a "T" tail and aerodynamically clean wings. The design offered excellent performance and a quiet cabin. The VC10 was loved by crew and passengers alike. The VC10 was one of the fastest subsonic airliners. A Vickers Super VC10held the trans-Atlantic speed record for a subsonic flight until February 2020 when a British Airways Boeing 747 broke the record.
